Description

Premier 1850 pays tribute to Viña Carmen, Chile’s oldest winery. These modern wines are characterized by their purity and the intensity of their fruit. Fresh out of Aconcagua, this golden yellow Chardonnay features lots of fruits, wood, vanilla, and buttery goodness. More of the same on the palate, with great body and length.Crafted from a mix of sherry and bourbon casks and bottled at the distillery makers preferred drinking strength of 42.8%. This is part of the 1824 Collection which is a range of Macallans released for the travel retail market. Nose: Rich fruitcake, sticky toffee pudding, spicy dried fruit, french toast, honey roasted nuts, creamy fudge, rum and raisin, fruit and nut chocolate, ripe fig and marzipan. Palate: Rich and spicy dried fruit, dundee cake soaked in sherry, toasted aromatic spices, raisin bread, runny honey, praline, toffee apple. Finish: Dark honey on buttered brown toast, aromatic spices, baked apples stuffed with sultana, fruit and nut chocolate. Another crowd pleasing offering from the “Rolls Royce” of the whisky world and style wise somewhere inbetween the fine oak and sherry cask releases.
